On 1 August, Star Movies airs the comedy Legally Blonde at 9 pm. Reese Witherspoon plays Ellie Woods a natural blonde. The character in the film dates the cutest fraternity boy on the college campus and wants nothing more than to be 'Mrs. Warner Huntington III'. However Elle is perceived as being 'too blonde' with all the 'allied associations'. Growing up across the street from popular television star Aaron Spelling might mean something in LA, but nothing to Warner's East-Coast blue blood family. Elle must wage the good fight for her guy, for herself and for blondes who suffer endless indignities everyday.

On 2 August the channel will air the Jackie Chan western comedy Shanghai Noon at the same time. The 'Wild West' meets the 'Far East' in a battle for honour, royalty and a trunk full of gold. On 3 August, the channel will air Can't Hardly Wait. The film stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ethan Embry and the film centres around a graduation party - where an assortment of jocks, geeks, prom queens, bimbos, head-bangers, and nerdy misfits - unload four years' worth of emotional baggage at a house where the hostess loses control of her guests.
