The second show Its My Pasand is in an autobiographical format and it will air on Thursday, 28 August at 8 pm (repeat on Friday at 2.00 pm).

“We decided to give each song a name. But video is shot on the song Joy because it conveys happiness and colours,” says Mahadevan who had created waves with his song Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon. “This is one song that has become like national anthem. Even whenever I sing it in a stadium full of people, everybody stands up and sing along,” he adds with obvious pride.

Mahadevan tells etc that his creativity hasn’t necessarily come from sitting by the lake and staring in the rainbow kind of situations. “Most of my songs are written when I am stuck in the traffic at link road. The song Meri Zindagi Mein Ayee Ho Tum in the film Armaan was 100 per cent composed in the car. You don’t even need a music instrument in hand to create music. It can be made while sitting on the commode also,” he laughs while getting up close and personal on etc.

The first time, Mahadevan had played an instrument was at the age of four. He had gone to his uncle’s place and there he started playing the harmonium without any training. “When my parents saw my talent, they got me classically trained. It is important to know the basics of your profession to perfect the art,” tells Mahadevan while talking about his family, his life, his joys and his favourite preoccupations.
