This independence day, national broadcaster Doordarshan is showing Taal, the Subhash Ghai hit, at 2:30 pm on DD 1 as the special holiday feature film. The cast includes Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Khanna.

On the same day, it will also telecast a 25-minute documentary titled Vandematram on the metro channel, DD 2, at 9:30 pm. Vandematram has been directed by Raj Shekhar Vyas and will also be shown on 14 August at 10:05 am on the national channel DD 1.
