| In keeping with it's long standing tradition of airing
mythological series on Sunday mornings, Doordarshan will be airing
a new mega mythological serial on DD1 every Sunday at 10:05 am starting
from 24 August.
Gayatri Mahima, produced by P.K.Tewari and directed by Dharmesh
Tewari, will attempt to define the philosophy of the divine Gayatri
Mantra of Righteousness - Knowledge - Sadgyan.
The series aims to bring out the power of the age-old mantra, which
encompasses the essence of the four Vedas. The serial will show
the trials and tribulations of people and how the recitation of
the Mantras has benefited and enhanced the lives of many. It will
demonstrate the power and relevance of Gayatri Mantra in today's
world and how it adds meaning to our lives and brings peace and
happiness to all.
The series also includes the tales of Maharishi Vishwamitra, Satyavan
and Savitri, Gautam Rishi and others and how they attained success
and salvation through Gayatri.
The cast boasts of Arun Govil, Dharmesh Tewari, Pankaj Dheer, Aman
Verma, Surender Pal, Varsha Usgaonker, Renuka Israni and Sheeba.
