MUMBAI:CNN's
show Talk Asia meets Ravi Shankar, one of India’s foremost
classical musicians this weekend.
In an in–depth interview with Lorraine Hahn, he talks about his
passion and love for music, his career, his childhood, his dreams
and his relationship with daughter, Anoushka. Later in the show,
Anoushka joins Lorraine Hahn. An accomplished pianist and a sitarist,
Anoushka will share details of her childhood, her career and her
father’s influence in her life. The show airs 7 September at 7 pm.
Talking
about his career, Ravi Shankar says, "My childhood began at
an early age in Europe and America and seeing that, people around
in these countries have so little idea of Indian music and they
couldn’t appreciate the spirit of our music. I had this thing that
I should go someday to make them understand our music and that was
a great motivation."
Talking
about her father, Anoushka says, "People do always think of
me as his daughter on all levels and that’s a little frustrating
sometimes. I want to be known as myself more."
Talk
Asia is a half-hour regional chat show broadcast every weekend,
featuring celebrity interviews, topical discussion and personal
insight highlighting Asia’s leading business, political and entertainment
personalities, including golf superstar Tiger Woods, Bollywood director
Ashutosh Gowarikar and star Amitabh Bachchan.
