Action oriented channel AXN has announced that it will air Vertical
Limit on 26 October at 9 pm.
An
emotionally charged action-adventure story, the film is a high-adrenaline
tale of a young climber played by Chris O' Donnel (Scent of a
Woman) who must launch a treacherous and extraordinary rescue
effort up K-2, the second highest peak in the world to save his
sister and summit team in a race against time.
Brother - sister duo, Peter (played by O'Donnel) and Annie (Robin
Tunney) are part of a great climbing family. However a horrific
climbing accident leads Peter to cut their father's rope in order
to save his sister and himself. Traumatised by the incident, Peter
cuts himself off from the rest of the world and isolates himself
as a nature photographer, while Annie chases her father's dream
to climb the world's highest peak. Annie, part of an expedition
to scale K-2, is trapped 26,000 feet a death zone above the vertical
limit of endurance where the human body cannot survive for long.
How Peter with the help of fellow climbers and eccentric mountain
man Montgomery Wick (Scott Glenn) ascends the chilling and world's
most feared peak to save his sister forms the climax of the movie.
The film has been directed by Martin Campbell who has also directed
Golden Eye.
