Malaysian Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad gives an interview
to CNN's Talk Asia.
Interviewed from his official residence in Putrajaya, Dr Mahathir
discusses the trials and tribulations of his extraordinary political
career, his plans for retirement, his vision for Malaysia in the
21st century as well and his views on the current world political
situation.
The show sees the 76 year old speaks to host Lorraine Hahn about
the ups and downs of his political life, plus the reasons behind
his decision to step down.
During his time as prime minister, Mahathir successfully transformed
Malaysia from an agricultural country into one of the top chip manufacturers
in the world. In this half-hour interview, he talks of efforts to
put Malaysia on the international stage and his thoughts on how
the world have changed since the events of 9/11.
The show airs 12 October at 7 pm with repeats on 13 October at
4 pm and 14 October at 9 am and 8 pm.
