National Geographic Channel (NGC) will celebrate 14 November by
airing a special programme called Gerry Martin Children's Day
Special.
Gerry Martin, NGC's first adventurer in India, is a herpetologist
(someone who seeks to uncover the secrets of the reptile world).
In an attempt to break myths and misunderstandings about reptiles
especially snakes, the programme includes a discussion with a group
of kids inquisitive about reptiles.
The programme will trace Martin's venture into the Western Ghats,
where he battles the dangers of the jungle, the drenching monsoon
rains and herds of elephants. It will also highlight his travel
through South India where he battles the elements and the threat
of a poisonous attack in his quest to study snakes.
The Children's Day Special will feature various other programmes
such as National Geographic Explorer, Super Croc and Extreme
Science : Snakes and Croc Chronicles from 7:00 pm to
11:00 pm.
