MTV India will air the recently concluded MTV Europe Music Awards on 7 December at 1 pm with repeats on 8 December at 5:30 pm and 14 December at midnight. This will include a half hour backstage special once the ceremony has been completed..

In order to create anticipation for the awards among music buffs, the channel has announced that it will air a series of nomination specials. These kick off on 22 November at 1 pm.

Singer cum actor Eminem 8 Mile topped the list of winners at the 9th annual MTV Europe Music Awards. The rap star won for Best Male, Best Hip Hop and Best Album.

25 awards were handed out in Barcelona and included 10 regional awards. The show saw perfoprmances from the likes of Moby, Robbie Williams, Pink, Bon Jovi.

Other artistes who emerged on top included Australian pop star Kylie Minogue with two trophies. The alternative rock group Red Hot Chilli Peppers won for Best Rock and Best Live Act. The Free Your Mind award went to FARE which stands for Football Against Racism in Europe. The awards were hosted by Sean Combs.
