After HBO, it is the turn of rival Star Movies to showcase legendary
Irish rock group U2. The channel presents U2 Live at Slane Castle
on 17 November at 3:45 pm.
20 years after making their Slane Castle, Ireland debut, the multi-Grammy
Award-winning rock band U2 returned for the Irish leg of their world
tour. U2 Live at Slane Castle captures an electrifying performance
that includes chart-topping hits Pride (In The Name Of Love),
Beautiful Day, One, and Walk On performed in
front of 95,000 fans. The programme also features exclusive backstage
footage and commentary from the band members themselves as they
return to the land of their birth.
Star Movies is also giving away an exclusive U2 guitar and copies
of their latest CD, The Best of 1900-2000, to viewers. Log
on to www.indya.com for more information.
The channel has also announced that it will air the Oscar nominated
Billy Elliott on 15 November at 9 pm. Jamie Bell plays a
boy who loves ballet and it isn't long before he finds himself in
dance, demonstrating the kind of raw talent seldom seen by the class'
exacting instructor, Mrs. Wilkinson (Julie Walters).
But Billy must keep his participation in the class a secret from
his widowed father (Gary Lewis) and overbearing brother (Jamie Draven),
as both men are on strike from their jobs at the mine, and are struggling
just to keep food on the table. An officiasl rel;ease informs that
the inspiration to write the story for Billy Elliott came
in a flash to screenwriter Lee Hall while living in America and
writing about his own childhood.
