With
summer setting in at its real peak, HBO offers viewers some
cool entertainment this year.
Beginning May up to July, viewers can enjoy shows like
Boogie Nights, Toonland, Summer Action
Marathon, HBO Special concerts, HBO Original
Movies and movies like Striptease, starring Demi
Moore, The Ransom, starring Mel Gibson and The
Deep End of the Ocean featuring Michelle Pfeiffer, amongst
others.
The action begins in May as HBO presents the thrill-a-minute
ride with it’s Spy Game. Every Tuesday at 9:30 pm,
the channel will have action movies like Virtuosity
where Denzel Washington is released from prison to battle
a “virtual” villain in this imaginative, futuristic thriller.
It is followed by, The Art Of War starring Wesley
Snipes and Anne Archer. Moreover, there is also The Eraser,
starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and the action movie The
Jackal with Bruce Willis playing the mystery assasin.
If that's not enough, viewers can get some musical entertainment
with some dance moves and music every Wednesday at 9:30
pm on HBO’s Boogie Nights.
Every
Thursday at 9:30 pm, HBO presents cartoon inspired movies
in Toonland, television’s favourite cartoon duo,
who get caught in a vicious battle in the motion picture
adaptation of the modern stone-age family The Flintstones.
It is followed by The Casper, starring Christina
Ricci and Bill Pullman. Two superstars, basketball legend
Michael Jordan and Hollywood legend Bugs Bunny, team up
against a team of nasty aliens for the looniest interplanetary
basketball game ever played in Space Jam.
There is more of the big screen version of the Jay Ward
cartoon, The Adventures Of Rocky And Bullwinkle starring
Oscar winner Robert De Niro and Rene Russo. And finally,
following the adventures of the macabre family from the
1964 television series in the comedy catch The Addams
Family.
The first Monday till September will also play host to the
HBO Original Movies. John Irvin's When Trumpets
Fade will be followed by Shot Through The Heart
in June, while In July there is Gia, starring Angeline Jolie.
August has Truman, based on David McCullough's award winning
novel and in September, the HBO Original Movies will culminate
in a block, the HBO Original Movie-Emmys stunt.
In May, the channel will telecast the live performance of
the Irish quintet Westlife: Where Dreams Come True.
In June, there is U2 in The Elevation Tour where
they perform their Grammy winning album, All that you
can’t leave behind, and in July one can catch the all
time famous N’Sync: Pop Odyssey Live.
Starting June, Mondays to Thursdays at 7:15 pm, one can
watch action blockbusters on HBO, including Sylvester Stallone's
Cobra, Demolition Man, Get Carter and
more.
