ETC is getting serious about music. It will shortly telecast
a fusion concert it organised in Mumbai this week, featuring
top Indian artistes including Dr L Subramaniam, Sivamani and
Karsten Vogel.
The Jugalbandi or fusion concert served as a meeting
ground for eastern and western music with classical, carnatic
and jazz converging in one concert. The ‘Global Fusion Concert
for Global Peace’ saw performances by Dr. L. Subramaniam,
Kavita Subramaniam, Sivamani, Karsten Vogel, Alex Rostotsky,
Mattias Muller, K. Sekar. Highlights included Bi Lizie Tra
with Goui Bi Gohi Johnson from the Ivory Coast of Africa
playing percussion. Karsten Vogal from Denmark plays saxaphone,
A. Sivamani on the drums, Alex Rostotsky from Russia demonstrated
electric Base. Held at the St Andrews' auditorium in Bandra
on 26 June, the concert was organised by Just Event, an
event management company.
