This Sunday, Talk Asia meets Indian film director
Ashutosh Gowarikar. His film Lagaan, which starred
Aamir Khan, earned an Oscar nomination in the foreign film
language category.
The
show airs on CNN Monday, 24 June, at 8 pm.
Talking about his expectations from Lagaan, Gowarikar
said: "...when I wrote the script and while making it, I
had a certain degree of confidence that this would appeal
to a certain section with its universal theme, its trap
of the human spirit, the underdog achieving the impossible..."
Hosted by Lorraine Hahn, Talk Asia is a half-hour
regional chat show that airs every weekend. It features
celebrity interviews, topical discussion and personal insights
highlighting Asia's leading business, political and entertainment
personalities.
