channel CNN will concentrate on corporate mismanagement
in its week-long series, America Inc: Crisis of Confidence
that airs from 8 to14 July.
Through the week, CNN’s financial anchors and correspondents
will report on the contributory factors and consequences
resulting from the seismic shock waves that have buffeted
the business world of late. The programme packages will
air during news and business programs like News Biz Today,
Business International and World Business Today.
The week of special reporting will culminate in a half-hour
roundtable discussion America Inc: Crisis of Confidence
which will air on 13 and 14 July. The roundtable discussion,
hosted by CNN’s anchor Charles Hodson, will be divided into
three segments: ethics and business, crime and punishment
and how the investors are dealing with the crisis.
CNN looks at the impact US corporate troubles are having
on the rest of the world. Issues that the channel will deal
with include the possibility of a backlash against more
corporate accountability in Asia, whether major international
investment institutions will keep buying on the US market
and whether Asian and European corporations will still be
listed on the New York Stock Exchange and use Wall Street
to raise money.
