Action adventure channel AXN premiers the 2nd Taurus World
Stunt Awards on Friday, 26 July, at 10 pm with a rebroadcast
on Saturday 27 July, at 2 pm.
The World Stunt Awards is a program created by the World
Stunt Awards Foundation, a charitable organization set up
for the benefit of the stunt performers around the world
and to recognize and honour their invaluable contribution
to the modern film experience.
The World Stunt Awards 2002 has categories like the Best
Fight, Best Fire Stunt, Best Aerial work, Best Work with
an Animal, Best Overall Stunt by a Stuntwoman and a Stuntman,
Hardest hit and Best Stunt Co-ordinator Action sequence
and Feature film. The commendations to be presented at the
ceremony would be the Taurus Honorary Award and the Lifetime
Achievement Award.
This year Rush Hour II leads the pack with nine nominations,
while seven nominations went to Apocalypse Now Redux
and The Fast and the furious. Winners from a total
of 14 categories will be chosen, while honorary and Lifetime
achievement awards will be awarded to those who have made
outstanding contributions to the art of stunt performance.
