HBO
will telecast the taut and tense thriller Desperate Measures
on 13 July at 9:30 pm.
The film stars Michael Keaton and Andy Garcia. Nine year
old Matthew Connor (Joseph Cross) is dying of leukemia.
His days are numbered and his only chance is a bone marrow
transplant. His father, a character etched by Garcia (For
Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story) manages
to locate a potential donor after an exhaustive search but
there is a catch. The man in question is a convicted ruthless
psychopath played by Keaton, who shot to fame with Batman.
He sees the operation as the perfect opportunity to escape.
He manages to escape with Garcia hot on his trail. Garcia
has to be careful not to kill Keaton as the bone marrow
of a dead man is useless.
