MTV
has announced the first list of artists slated to attend
the first ever MTV Asia Awards in Singapore on 2 February.
They
include popular Irish band Westlife, pop musician Pink,
Rock Group P.O.D. and yet another boy band Blue. Asian singers
will also attend the show which is expected to have an audience
of over 7,000. They include Indian pop star Shaan, Chinese
singer NA Ying and Hong Kong star Sammi Cheng. Watch this

Speaking on this, MTV Networks Asia vice president programming,
talent and artists relations Mishal Varma said: "This will
be the first time Asian fans get a chance to see artists
from so many different countries performing on stage at
one single event. Expect a fusion of different cultures
and music and an all-in-all mind-blowing experience."
Online voting at www.mtvasia.com started on 12 November
in the 19 categories. The channel claims that over ten million
votes have been received across Asia till date.
