This month, MAX's maha movie is a convention breaker.

Astitva, the path breaking film that demolished every chauvinistic assumption average men have about Indian women, will be aired on the channel on 22 February at 9 pm.

The film stars Tabu as an average Indian housewife. Director Mahesh Manjrekar has drawn sensitive perfromances from both Tabu and Sachin Khedekar, the chief protagonists of the film. The story revolves around a man who shuns his wife after he discovers that she had had an affair in the distant past. The man, needless to say, has also been unfaithful. Mohnish Behl, Sachin Khedekar, and Namrata Shirodkar also star in this offbeat film.
