Discovery channel will premier a medical series, Super
Surgery this weekend. The series to be aired at 10 pm,
takes viewers inside the dramatic real-life stories of infants
and adults pursuing their last hope for a medical cure.

The robotic surgery allows viewers to follow the progress
of patients who have undergone heart and kidney surgery.
Each episode of Super Surgery will features recently
performed operations from various hospitals around the world.
The new form of surgery envisages using small probes with
multi-purpose tools inserted through minute incisions in
the body and guided by the surgeon using controls similar
to those on a gaming console.
According to the channel, the operation room will be transformed
into a TV studio, with the broadcast taking place straight
from inside the patient's body. The viewers will see the
surgeon maneuvering the robotic arms and fingers to perform
intricate surgery and use electric scalpels, magnets to
direct needles and mini-vacuum cleaners to remove surgical
threads. The cameras will capture complicated surgical operations
performed by the robotics, using technology first developed
for NASA space missions.
