Star World's talk show Rendezvous
with Simi Garewal will feature
crusader,
writer, politician Maneka Gandhi next
week. The show airs in two parts - 25 August and and 1 September
at 8:30 pm.
 Gandhi
is well known for her battles for the survival of animals.
A
student of Lady Sriram college, where she also did a bit
of modeling she met the late Sanjay Gandhi.
On
turning vegetarian after marriage, Maneka has told Simi,
"Often I used to speak about cruelty towards animals, doing
something for them. One day at the dinner table Sanjay asked
me, how can you speak about these things and then eat meat.
Either you stop speaking or stop eating meat. That's how
I became a vegetarian."
