Clinton adds touch of celeb glamour to BBC show

(Posted on 2 April 2002 3:15 pm)

BBC World's flagship new media show Click Online will mark its 100th edition on 5 April with an exclusive interview with former US president Bill Clinton.

Clinton spoke to BBC World Click Online presenter Stephen Cole, from the 2002 World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) in Adelaide after addressing delegates on the information divide between rich and poor countries. Clinton also discusses the implications of being in an interdependent global village in terms of global warming and terrorism and suggests how IT can help to combat terrorism by using it more efficiently to track patterns of behaviour via information management systems.

Click Online is presented by Stephen Cole from a different location each week. Launched in April two years ago as BBC World's first weekly internet and new media show, it aims to keep viewers abreast of developments in e-commerce, the internet and information technology.

While the programme will air at 1 am on Friday, Indian viewers can catch it on 6 April at noon and again at 7 pm, or on Sunday at 4 pm.
