Star
Sports has announced that it will have complete coverage
of the the first Golf Major of the year from Augusta National
Golf Club. Live coverage of the final round takes place
on Monday at 3 am.
Changes
in the circuit have been made for this year's contest. Keeping
in mind improvements in equipment technology, the club co-founded
by the legendary Bobby Jones have re-designed nine of their
equally-legendary 18 holes and added 285 yards in length.
Now measuring 7,270 yards in total length, Augusta 2002
is a radically different track to the layout where Tiger
Woods won his second Masters title last year. The changes
have been made largely to eliminate 300-yard drives and
put the emphasis on strong iron play, a release states.
The field also includes South Africans Ernie Els and Retief
Goosen and Spaniards Jose-Maria Olazabal and Sergio Garcia.
