In a first for ETV Marathi, this month the channel salutes the talent of late filmmaker V. Shantaram by showcasing 14 of his movies in a month-long festival. The festival starts from tomorrow 6 October and his movies will be shown every Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

The fest will last till 18 November, the birth anniversary of V Shantaram, wherein his movies will be shown every Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Amar Bhupali, one of the films being shown was the first Indian film which won an award at Cannes for Best Sound recording. Pinjra is widely regarded as the most successful Marathi movie ever in terms of viewership. Manoos was the first film produced in other languages as well and was appreciated by popular Western artistes of the time like comic legend Charlie Chaplin for its takes. In Dharmatama Shantaram Bapu as he is affectionately called dealt with the life of Sant Ekanatha.

ETV has rights for most of the films of the legend. The total Marathi films library of the channel is around 60 movies which consist of all classic old movies.
