Scoring on a different pitch

Salil Ankola is now in form to play Inspector Akshay in CID Special Bureau from 11 March. So how does it feel to be a part of the striking corps of cops, geared up to wipe out crime? "It's awesome. I played Special Investigation Officer in Kehta Hai Dil and co-incidentally I am playing it again in CID Special Bureau," says and excited Salil.

Salil is playing what his father did in reality. "My father has served the police force for the last 35 years. He was in the drugs and narcotics division. I have seen the hard work the police put in. I have also closely experienced the tensions they are into. I relate a lot to this role," he adds.

It has been almost a decade since the cricketer set his foot in the field of acting. He first appeared in Chaahat Aur Nafrat on Zee TV, and then in Khakee, X Zone, Josh, Kora Kaagaz and Kehta Hai Dil, which will see its end early April.
