Harsha
finds his heir
In
the Closeup Dream Job - Harsha Ki Khoj, ESPN Star Sports
and Harsha Bhogle have finally found Anand Narasimhan; a candidate
who has nature's gift of an able presenter.
Anand
Narasimhan: at the top of the world?
|
"It
is like a dream come true. All my wishes and fantasies will
now come true," says Anand. The 27 year old will now
present sports events for ESPN for a year from the ESPN studio
at Singapore.
A professional
Master of Ceremony, Anand has hosted, anchored and presented
many stage shows. "I was usually complemented on my presentation
skills and was also told by some that I could reach milestones
in this undertaking," says an elated Anand.
"The
first audition round held in October in Bangalore was one
of the toughest rounds because I came to know of the audition
only a day before. It was a last minute rush that is taking
me places. The other difficult round was during the quarter
final when I was to present a two minute bulletin and live
commentary in Bangladesh. I was almost tongue tied initially,"
he laughs.
"Sports
is my hobby and writing is my passion. The two have come together
and given me my dream job," is how Anand defines his
dream job.
The contest
proved as an excellent training ground and has groomed him
personally and professionally. He has learnt discipline while
learning his work.
While
Anand feels at the top of the world, he reminisces how he
reached his goal. "I wanted to be a news broadcaster.
Harsha Ki Khoj happened at the right time, and gave
me the break I wanted."
As Anand
packs his bag to leave for Singapore, he regrets that the
contest did not get the media and public attention that a
reality show deserved.
Let's
hope this 27 year old will shoulder the responsibility and
fame tag attached to his vocation.
