The quirky world of television is full of stars, starry mood swings, the rat race for the stellar roles and lots more...

'ADA', not yet!
Remember Ada?

We mean, the 'Acting and Dance Academy' - ADA, the new show that Sahara One had promised to air from 24 January?

Well, it seems to have turned into some sort of a non-starter. Initial reports had pegged its launch for 17 January, and it was to be the first of a series of new shows that Sahara One intended to unleash in the 8.30 to 10.30 pm band. At a media conference in the first week of January, the channel said the show would be launched on 24 January at 9 pm.

For the loyalists who tuned in yesterday to catch the Ken Ghosh directed show, starring Nirmal Pandey and Deepshikha, there was old fare on at 9 pm, instead of the promised ADA. While channel officials say it will be on air soon, our sources say the delay of another new show, Dial and Win, caused the delay of ADA in effect. Dial and Win will be a show where callers call in to answer questions and win prizes for the correct answers.

Ken too is waiting to get the new launch dates of his first fiction show for television, when we spoke to him Tuesday morning.

For those keen on Sahara, there's another new show in the offing, a reality show titled Dil Chahta Hai, that's supposed to launch on Valentine's Day. Will that one stick to its launch schedule?

Are Karishma-Eijaz just friends?
Devar and bhabhi in love? Kritika of Kkoi Dil Mein Hai seems to be spending a lot of time with her serial devarEijaz Khan. When quizzed, the pretty lass simply blushed, "Oh, we are just good friends. Yes, we gel well. But there's nothing more than that," adding, "We are not seeing each other." Point noted, Karishma. If necessary, we'll get back to you.

Amar-Ekta at war?
While stories about Amar Upadhyay's re-entry into Kyunki... (as Tulsi's grandson) continue to do the rounds, we hear, Balaji House is pretty irritated about all this. According to Rekha Modi, dialogue writer on the show, "Today when Amar realises that he could never have a future in films, he desperately wants to come back to Balaji. He was never offered any role. Ekta is furious with Amar for spreading such stories. She has decided not to work with him ever in the future." Well, well, well...

Sony loves Amit
Sony seems to be loving the axed Indian Idol candidate Amit Tandon. Not only did they offer him Ekta Kapoor's forthcomiong Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai on Sony, but also 'Optimystix's Ye Meri Life Hai. Considering the fact that yet another axed guy Rahul Saxena has been finalised to sing in Farah Khan's next film, it seems that getting eliminated in the Indian Idol is a blessing in disguise.

Ronit Roy in 'Kisna'
Did you know this? Elder Roy brother, Ronit, has a role in Subhash Ghai's period film Kisna (Vivek Oberoi, Isha Sharwani) which releases this Friday. After all, he is Ghai's nephew. Mamaji called and bhanja couldn't dream of saying no. The actor is maha excited about his cameo. Let's see if Mr Bajaj's charm will work for his Uncle to get his Midas touch back again.

Sandhya on cloud nine
Sandhya Mridul is looking forward to this Friday. Mridul stars in Madhur Bhandarkar's Page 3. She plays a brash girl who has an 'I don’t care a damn’ attitude, smokes, drinks and has no qualms about it. Other projects? "I have shot for international VJ Luke Kenny's directorial venture titled 13th Floor and an English play Zen Katha with Lilette Dubey. I have a role in Samar Khan's debut venture Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye (which has Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo) in Malaysia. And I have another film- The Great Indian Butterfly opposite Aamir Bashir," she informs.
