The quirky world of television is full of stars, starry mood swings, the rat race for the stellar roles and lots more...

Mansi 'Monalika' Verma celebrates birthday on 'KGGK' sets
When one works 12 hour shifts, it's inevitable that even celebrations spill into professional lives. On Tuesday, Mansi Verma celebrated her birthday (we ain't telling which one!) on the Kahaani... sets with her co-stars. There was a cake, flowers and a Chinese lunch for the unit.

To add to her happiness, Mansi learnt that her character Monalika is getting a pleasant twist in the serial - Aryan gets her to sign a property document that will end up gifting her child half of his property eventually!

Away from the sets, Mansi also celebrated the day at home later and among the gifts she received was a DKNY watch from her mother. What a way to spend a birthday!

Varun returning in 'DMNHC'
While Sangeeta Ghosh has now a double role in Sanjay Wadhwa's Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand (slated to become a half-hour show, courtesy Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming Kkavyanjali), we have sources telling us that Varun Badola (who was a part of the serial when Aroona Irani was handling it) is tying up his shoe laces to return. While Badola who plays a main role in Zee's Astitva- Ek Prem Kahani recently married Rajeshwari, his ex-flame Maninee De
sent shock waves by tying the knot with Mihir Mishra who, we were the first to tell you in this same column, had snapped ties with his long-time girlfriend Shilpa Kadam.

Delnaz & Deepshikha in film
Delnaz Paul and Deepshikha have been added in Pal Tham Gaya (to be directed by Hriday Shetty) where Dimple and Rishi rediscover past passions at a lonely old age, playing lovers, parents and then grandparents, in multi-faceted roles. Besides, there is a younger couple as well in the film- Sameer Dattani and Soha Ali Khan. This will be Deepshikha's first appearance in a film after recovering from her second delivery.

Lucky Karishma
Karishma Randeva had a new lease of life on the eve of 2005. Near Film City, her Maruti car banged by another car so hard that her card turned turtle. Though the driver got a few bruises, beautiful Dollie escaped totally unhurt!

Manini & Mihir in hurry
The recent trend in the glamour world is to delay the babies as much as possible. But Manini De and Mihir Mishra may prove to be an exception. The couple say that they will soon, rather very soon, start a family. Now let's see
if they beat the recent couples Varun-Rajeshwari, Hiten-Gauri and Manav-Shweta.

Will Tigmanshu Dhulia make a comedy serial for Star?
The Charas filmmaker, who started his career making six episodes of Star Bestsellers for Star Plus, returns to the Star fold this weekend with a telefilm Woh Dus Din for Star One. WDD is a delightful tale, pithily told, about a film unit that has to churn out a feature film in 10 days flat to meet the demands of an underworld don.

Tishu, who had graduated to the big screen after earning plaudits for his Bestsellers venture, is grateful to the channel that promoted him, and says he is now thinking of making a comedy serial that could air on Star. He has also floated a new company, Fish Films, that will engage in making TV software. WDD is its first venture, directed by Tishu himself. Watch out for more from this talented guy on the small screen!

Khichdi team's popularity soars!
Now this puts the official stamp on their popularity! The Gujarat government invited the Instant Khichdi team to inaugurate its week long kite festival in Ahmedabad recently.

The entire Parekh family, eccentricities et al, traveled to the neighbouring state to flag off the festival that will culminate on Makar Sankranti this weekend. Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta and Supriya Pathak were some of stars of the show who lent their star appeal to the festival, and also observed a two minute silence for those who perished in the tsunami.
