But
Annu Kapoor's other baby, a musical show that's been running
for one and a half years on Pakistan's Geo channel, has run
into rough weather.
Gayegi
Duniya Geet Mere, a daily show that had Annu holding forth
on different musical legends from the subcontinent, has been
one of the actor's pet projects for a long while. Financial
constraints on part of the channel have forced the temporary
closure of the show, reveals a saddened Annu.
Annu
carried his own team of musicians with him for the show that
was shot in Dubai for eight to 10 days a month. The show had
him revealing the oeuvre, the personalities and the lives
of several legends, including famous ones like Faiz Mohammad
Faiz and lesser known ones like Nisar Baksh. Annu's mastery
over Urdu and the country's fascination for shaayari made
the programme quite a hit in Pakistan.

The
show has been off air for over two months now, but Annu is
hopeful that it will take up where it left off, soon. Meanwhile,
he continues to put his indefatigable energies behind Zee's
Antakshari, that has got a makeover with the Holi episode.
Annu now plans to put his all into Dilli Se Lahore Tak,
another crossover bid for the music show, slated for May or
June this year.
The
new Antakshari sets, now at Film City, have been designed
by Nitin Desai and costumes for the lead pair of Annu and
Pallavi Joshi have been done by Vikram Phadnis.
