'Special
Squad'hero refuses Ekta, bags Hollywood flick!

Bhanu
Uday |
He
is a man who comes across as someone who knows what he is
talking about. He speaks his mind out and makes
no bones about his likes and dislikes. Meet Bhanu Uday, the
man who plays Aryan, the charismatic leader in Star One's
Special Squad.
"I
came to Mumbai to work in movies, but soon realized that I
didn't fit in", says this NSD graduate. He did not want
to do stock roles that did not satisfy his creative instincts.
But this has not prevented him from signing a Hollywood flick,
Searching for Sara, co-starring Manoj Bajpai, which will be
shot in Jaisalmer. A newcomer, Bhanu had no qualms about refusing
Ekta Kapoor's offer of playing Kkavya in Star Plus' Kkavyanjali.

Refused
Ekta Kapoor! That's new! I Ask him why, and I realize that
there is more to this man than what meets the eye --- "I
refuse to do something that is not true. And the kind of work
that this lady does, is not something that I want to be part
of", a vehement Bhanu points out.
A theatre
actor, a method actor, an actor who contributes in the creation
of the serial that he is part of, Bhanu, chose to play Aryan
because it had different shades to it --- the experience of
the pain of loss and the satisfaction in work. This, he says
is what he is looking for, a character with depth, something
that did not excite him about playing Kkavya.
Bhanu
will now take a sabbatical from Special Squad for three
episodes, but he will be back, he assures us. Ekta, or not,
this is one actor who seems to be all set to make his mark
on the telly!
