Page 3 bug bites TV stars too!

The larger than life characters created by television are fast becoming popular in Mumbai’s social circuit.

TV stars are leaving no stone unturned to hog the limelight and rub shoulders with popular Bollywood biggies at these happening parties. Apurva Agnihotri with wifey Shilpa Saklani, singer turned actor Vikas Bhalla, Nikki Astitva Aneja and husband Sunny, Arjun Punj with Gurdeep Kohli, Ronit Roy and Rohit Roy, Raman Trikha, Rakshanda Khan, Bobby Darling are just a few names that regularly pop out from page 3 in the mornings.

Good at histrionics, these stars carry loads of attitude at movie premieres and parties, thanks to the instant recognition that comes from being on the small screen almost all the time.

Stunning Shweta Salve may not have much on her acting plate at the moment, but does not mind attending these dos.

She says, “Mumbai is the glamour capital and everyone wants to be a part of the party circuit. I don’t mind being featured on those glossy papers." Is there nothing wrong in attending social events, she counters.

None whatever. Model and actor Raman Trikha of popular yesteryear serial Banegi Apni Baat was recently spotted at a boutique launch in suburban Mumbai. He offers, “The more you are seen, the more saleable you are. Today TV actors are as big as Bollywood biggies and being a part of a successful teleserial is an achievement on its own. Seriously, Page 3 parties give a psychological kick.”

It's also a route to de-stress after long winding, often tiring shooting schedules. It's the perfect platform to chill out and meet their friends from the entertainment industry. Tisca Chopra, seen in Hyderabad Blues 2, Raincoat and

serials like Astitva says, “Page 3 is the documentation of our generation and modern society delivering the exact graph of the latest happenings, trends, fashion, and lifestyle.” The actress feels that it also exposes “parde ke peeche ke raaz”.”I believe that if a person is talented and outstandingly beautiful they can also be a part of this brigade. I just go out for my work and to be with close friends.” adds Tisca.

Amit Sarin, better known as Kshitij in Kkusum opines, “In India, people are really bothered about the intricate details of celebs' lifestyles - from their attire to their eating habits. Every one of us is interested in anything and everything that is glamorous involving Bollywood stars. I do go to parties for a change and it is good fun and enjoyment.”

Bobby Darling who started his acting career with gay roles in popular Balaji teleserials loves partying in real life too. Thus Bobby was very comfortable jiving at party scenes in recent movie Page 3. Says the actor says “I live alone and feel lonely at times. So I hang out with friends at such parties.”

Achint Kaur is matter of fact when she says, “Media, overdone with movie stars, is now targeting TV stars. Page 3 is daily fodder for many readers who want to know the whereabouts, dressing mantra et al about their movie or TV icon. All actors like to be photographed as it is free publicity for them.”
