The verdict is finally out from the Ekta camp. Rekha Modi is out of Kyunki…for good!

"Yes, she will no longer write for Kyunki…No one is indispensable," says Shivangi Singh Chauhan, creative head of the serial. Although Rekha's fate is sealed as far as this serial is concerned, a decision is yet to be reached regarding other serials that she is a part of.

It is said that both the cast and the crew were very disturbed by the turn of events. The Balaji camp agrees that Modi was one of their finest dialogue writers, but anything that disturbs the bonhomie on the set cannot be tolerated.

"She was the one who wrote dialogues for Kyunki…for a long time. It is difficult to train a new person. But frankly, this is team work and there will not be any problems," assures Shivangi.

Meanwhile, Smriti, celebrating the completion of 1000 episodes of the serial on Thursday, looked completely relaxed as she greeted the press. She stuck to her usual answer, "Let the law take it's course," on the Rekha issue.

Ekta too refused to comment on the matter.

It is now clear that Ekta has chosen her favourite bahu, over her writer, who has scripted many of those dramatic lines that have touched a chord with millions of audience.
