Stayin' cool

It's that time of the year, when you would like to roll up your sleeves, lean in your bean bag and sip juices of choicest

summer fruits. Do our TV stars have similar plans to beat the heat?

Son Pari's fairy godmother, Mrinal Kulkarni, spends her summers out of India every year. She says, "My husband is a lawyer. This is the only time that we get to spend time with each other. Last year, I had been to Switzerland. This year I will spend 15 days in London." Mrinal loves painting. "I will spend lots of time at the Louvre, Paris," she adds.

Where some actors are busy choosing between destinations to visit, actor Sandeep Rajora, the cute boss in Zee TV's Kareena Kareena is of the sort who pays attention to his diet. "I eat light food and have lots of fluids," he mentions. He doesn't forget to add that he avoids tea. Talking about his plans, he says, "I will be going to Singapore this summer. I will see my sister too who, lives in Singapore."

But not all actors are that lucky to have some time to spend for themselves. Says Hiten Tejwani, the generous Karan of Kyunki…, "I wish I had the time to take a vacation. I am too tied up with work. But I go to the US every year for Navratri."

Kiran Karmarkar has a different tale to tell. "Since I haven't made any plans to go out, I am left to bear the heat on the sets. Although the sets are under temperature control, the air conditioners are switched off during the shot. Moreover, how much can one depend on electronic gadgets with so many people on the sets?"

Some actresses have good reasons to not go on a holiday. Shweta Salve, who shot to fame with Lipstick says, "I have a new show called Sarkaar coming up on Zee TV. That leaves me with no time for holiday."

Shilpa Kadam will be attending her sister's marriage in Kerala this May.

Looks like a long summer ahead but looks like our stars are set to beat the heat!
