Being married is awesome!

Sai Deodhar

Sai Deodhar, the lady who has made it a habit to play characters that leave a lasting impression, cannot stop laughing these days. Reason being her marriage to actor Shakti Anand.

Sai Deodhar: Playing her parts!

Sai, who made her mark in tellydom with her portrayal of Flight Lt Monica in Zee's Saara Akaash says, "It's great to be married to a person who is in the same profession. Its kind of a tradition in the family…my grandparents were both in the same profession and my parents are both into films. It's a blessing in disguise."

Incidentally, Sai's parents are cinematographer, Debu Deodhar and director, Shrabani Deodhar. She has virtually grown up in the film industry and has been facing the camera since she was three.

Anyone who has seen Sai perform, will agree that she can completely become the character she is playing with ease. "I can relate to Monika. She is a very real person who has her fair share of strengths and flaws," she says with pride.

Her character in Star One's Siddhanth, has also been appreciated. As Himangi, a hard-headed journalist, Sai played a girl who has her own views and identity. When asked why she quit the serial when her character was really shaping up well, she sighs, "But I was only offered one story. It was just that it comprised of many episodes. It's a pity isn't it? I really loved playing Himangi." We goad a little further, and then she says guardedly, "Maybe the channel didn't want to continue the track…maybe because it's turning episodic."

Sai and Shakti:Forever your's!

"I was blessed with a brilliant script in Saara Aakash…now I am looking for roles that must be parallel, if not better than what I have already done," says Sai, who is looking at film scripts, but believes that one should keep some time out for personal life.

Creativity, being topmost on her mind, Sai, is looking for projects that will give her creative satisfaction. "The camera never blinks, it catches everything, one has to be on his toes all the time," sasy Sai, emphasising why she wants to do one thing at a time.

Asked why she was just doing only Saara Aakash, when other actors are signing more than one project at one time, she points out, "See I have been offered dailies and that I can't accommodate in my schedule as I can't run from one set to the other…and I shoot for Saara…for 25 days in a month…"and surely, we understand, the remaining time must be precious time to be spent with her hubby!

On that note, she tells us that they did not even get to go on her honeymoon…Shakti and Sai went out for just four days…But atleast they get to see one another all the time on the sets of Saara Aakash. No wonder, both don't want to quit the serial…at any cost!
