Varsha to star in a serial on Zee Marathi

A lot has been changing on Zee Marathi. It started with change in logo and continues with launch of new serials. Oon Pauus, Ankur, Misha and now its time for a serial temporary titled Tujhyavina (without you).

Scheduled to launch on 2 May, this serial will be a weekly. This serial will see Varsha Usgaonkar and Yatin Karyekar play the lead.

Says producer-director of the serial, Sangeet Kulkarni, "Varsha and Yatin perfectly suit the character they would be playing". Sangeet has produced and directed a suspense thriller called Tharaar starring Yatin Karyekar on Zee Marathi and currently directs Vadalvaat on Zee Marathi.

So is Yatin Karyekar his favourite actor? "That's not why I chose him to act in Tujhyavina," he laughs. "Otherwise he would have been a part of Vadalvaat also," he adds.

Varsha Usgaonkar: Jhansi Ki Rani!

"This serial is contemporary and social. It shows how a woman juggles her personal and professional life. It begins with flashback showing me in my younger days and then coming to the present, where I play a mother," says Varsha.

This is Varsha's second serial on Zee Marathi. She had earlier acted in Agni Pareeksha three years back. Varsha has also done a series of short stories called Kabhie Kabhie and Alvida Darling on Zee TV and Jhansi Ki Rani on Doordarshan.

Currently, Varsha is doing four Marathi films. She will also be seen on Hindi screen playing a cameo in Mangal Pandey as Jhansi Ki Rani and a cameo in one of Ram Gopal Verma's forthcoming film. Varsha will also be hosting a talk show on Sahyadri launching later next month.

Varsha has been getting many offers to work in dailies. "Dailies are very time consuming. That's why I don't do dailies," offers Varsha.

Yatin was seen in serials like Shanti on Doordarshan, Prratima on Sahara, Deepastambha on Prabhat and Des mein nikla hoga chand on Star Plus. He has acted in movies like Munna Bhai MBBS, Manthan ek amrut pyala and Abhishek Bachchan starrer Shararat.
