MUMBAI: The news of the New Year's first high-profile exit from the television and entertainment industry just came in.

Sony Entertainment Television (SET)'s senior vice-president - marketing  Anup Viswanathan has resigned. A source close to the development confirmed the news to Indiantelevision.com that he served his last day in the organisation on 13 January.

As of now, there is no replacement for Vishwanathan. For the time being, SET vice-president - marketing Aman Shrivastava would look after the duties and responsibilities of the former senior vice- president - marketing.

Vishwanathan joined SET in September 2015 from Times Network where he worked as the marketing head for the English entertainment cluster.

Prior to joining Times Network, he worked with Leo Burnett for eight years.  He  worked on brands such as HDFC Life, Tata Capital, McDonald's, Sony Entertainment Television, Sony Pix and AXN. While at Leo Burnett, he has also worked on the reality show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' which was telecast by Sony Entertainment Television.

Indiantelevision.com reported in November 2015 that Vishwanathan was roped in as a part of the incumbent SET EVP and business head Danish Khan's core team along with Anshuman Sinha and Ritesh Modi.
