MUMBAI: In a bizarre and shocking incident, two TV journalists namely reporter Alison Parker, 24 and cameraman Adam Ward, 27, from CBS affiliate WDBJ7 Network were shot dead while broadcasting live in Virginia, United States. 

 

The shooting occurred at the Bedford County-Franklin County line in Moneta, Virginia at 6:45 am PST on Wednesday, 26 August.

 

The WDBJ7 network wrote on its Facebook page, “Law enforcement is on scene at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta. The incident involves a WDBJ7 crew. We don't have any additional details.”

 

The Police are looking for the gunman, who is on the run after shooting dead the duo during a live broadcast in Virginia. As per the latest in this developing story, the US authorities have a name and license plate number for the suspected gunman.

 

In a footage recorded during the live broadcast, as many as eight shots can be heard before the two victims fall to the ground.

 

At the time of the incident, Parker was interviewing local Chamber of Commerce head Vicki Gardner, who was also shot in the back and is said to be in surgery.
