Third Zee channel WION to be aired on Africa's Kwesé

MUMBAI: Zee Africa has announced the launch of its global English news channel WION on Kwesé TV, Africa's pay–TV network.

This will be the third channel from the Zee stable on the Kwesé platform which already hosts Bollymovies on channel 155 and Zee Bollynova on channel 150, added in January 2017.

WION will premiere to the African audience in Kwesé TV's current satellite markets on channel 731, and will reach viewers in Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, and Lesotho through its multi-platform broadcast offering which includes Kwesé mobile app, linear TV, and web streaming services.

With WION, Zee Africa CEO Harish Goyal said, they had committed to deliver to the African viewers, authentic information and a local perspective to what was happening in the world. Econet Media CEO Joseph Hundah concluded that the addition of WION to its line-up added further diversity to its bouquet.

WION, with its head office in Delhi and bureaus in 37 global locations, has multi-cultural staff adding local perspective to every global story.

WION is the first India-based network to have its presence in regions such as the U.S., the UK, Russia, China, and Africa making it South Asia's first convergent, multi-media English news network
