Comedy Central to air five new series in July

MUMBAI: Comedy Central brings to you the most awaited TV shows of the year. It’s that time of the year again when everything will be Lit up as Comedy Central is gearing up for the return of the dynamic duo – Harvey and Mike with the launch of the season 7 of legal drama - Suits on 14 July.

Comedy Central is also premiering some amazing new shows such as Mom Season 4, that revolves around the adventures of Bonnie and her daughter Christie on 5July, the multiple award-winning show Schitt’s Creek, a comedy drama about a billionaire couple Johny Rese and Moira who lose all their money and are forced to relocate to a small town of Schitt's Creek that they once bought as a joke. The show is set to go on air from 25 July.

Alongside the all-time favorite shows like Suburgatory, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Friends, Impractical Jokers and more, Comedy Central is set to raise the bar even higher with the Roast of the Knight Rider American superstar, David Hasselhoff on 30 July. To add to the stellar line-up of shows, Comedy Central is also bringing to India shows such as the Matt Le Blanc starrer Man with a Plan and The Great Indoors featuring Joel McHale.

Speaking about the robust line up for the month of June, Viacom18 English entertainment programming head Hashim Dsouza said, “Comedy is a genre that appeals to a wide range of audiences. And our focus has always been on bringing the best of international comedy content to India. We have always strived to bring a mix of interesting comedy shows from fiction to sit-coms to talk shows and much more. Month after month, we want to introduce our audience to internationally acclaimed shows, help them explore various aspects of comedy and bring back some beloved shows that they just cannot afford to miss! I’m sure, with a line-up such as this, July is going to be an exciting month for our viewers who are definitely going to be spoilt for choice!”

Show: Mom Season 4

Date: 5th July, Wednesday l 10 PM

A newly sober single mom tries to pull her life together in Napa Valley while dealing with her wayward mother.

Show: Suits Season 7

Date: 14th July, Friday | 8 PM

Suits, that has seen several nominations at a number of renowned platforms, such as People’s Choice Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and many more, is flaunted as the most watched and loved show on the international television. With the premiere of the seventh season around the corner, don’t miss the nail biting drama of law suits and summons, as Mike is back into action, this time as a legit lawyer. Watch out as Harvey and Mike take on their leading roles to drive ahead Pearson Specter Litt, now that Jessica Pearson is gone.

Show: Man with a Plan Season 1

Awarded the People's Choice Award for Favorite New TV Comedy, in 2017, Man with A Plan is the hilarious journey of Adam Burns, portrayed by Matt Le Blanc, in his struggles of parenting. Adam realizes that parenting is harder than he thought after his wife goes back to work and he's left at home to take care the kids.

Date: 17th July, Monday l 9:30 PM

An adventure reporter must adapt to the times when he becomes the boss to a group of millennial in the digital department of the magazine. The show stars Joel McHale and Stephen Fry.

Show: Schitt’s Creek Season 1

Date: 25th July, Tuesday l 10:30 PM

A billionaire and his family lose all their money and are forced to rebuild their lives in their only remaining asset: the small town of Schitt's Creek, which they once purchased as a joke. The show was nominated for an ACTRA Toronto Award for Outstanding Performance. The lead cast Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Chris Elliott and Dan Levy Elliott have won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance, while the show won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Comedy Series.
