Vivek Malhotra moves to TV Today as head of marketing & research

MUMBAI: TV Today Network has appointed Vivek Malhotra as VP marketing. Malhotra will be reporting to TVTN CEO Joy Chakraborthy.


As part of his new role, Malhotra will be responsible for developing the brand and communication strategy for TVTN Networks and will additionally take charge of the research and the special projects division.


Chakraborthy said, “As the pioneers of news broadcast in India, TVTN products have consistently been breaking new ground across verticals. With Vivek’s understanding of the news category, we look forward to communicating this even better – and achieving a serious resonance for each of our media brands. His complementary understanding of research and communication should help us create a superlative viewer and advertiser experience”


Prior to TVTN, Malhotra had a brief stint with Big FM as the head of marketing. Before that he served as the senior VP – marketing, PR and research at Bloomberg UTV where he set up the marketing division and held the portfolio since the channel launch. He also oversaw the distribution coordination at the business news channel at the time of his exit.


Malhotra’s earlier stint was with Star News Network, where he headed the trade engagement and the research unit and also acquired experience around regional products like Star Majha.
