The new MediaGridT active storage system from Omneon Video Networks has swept
the key awards at NAB2006. It has received the NAB AIM (Award for Innovation in
Media) Award, the Television Broadcast NAB2006 Top Innovation Award, the TV Technology
STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award and the Award for Broadcast Engineering
Pick Hit. The NAB AIM programme allows attendees to recognise pioneering technologies
that display significant advancement through boosting efficiency, increasing user
flexibility and creativity or lowering cost.
The STAR Award celebrates
and showcases the preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast
industry, based on editors' review of a variety of products, their technical applications
and their overall contribution to the industry, informs an official release. The
Television Broadcast Top Innovation Awards are presented in recognition of Technology
Insight for the Bottom LineT, having combined innovative technical achievement
with workflow and cost efficiencies. And, the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Awards
are presented to the most technologically innovative products that promise to
