Zee has bought a Maximum Throughput Sledgehammer system from Autodesk. This will serve as the broadcaster's core shared storage solution.

The channel had determined that its post-production pipeline required a shared storage component and went searching for system that could both deal with their multi-OS environment as well as their high bandwidth requirements. The channel says that given the scale of operations and the various post-production demands of the group, what was needed was a storage and infrastructure solution that was both open and could process data from any of the Autodesk systems that it uses.

Sledgehammer was chosen for its open architecture, and is now at the core of our post facility in Mumbai. It has delivered a robust and improved workflow which has resulted in shorter turn around time, and increased business benefits.”

Autodesk says that as India's media industry becomes increasingly sophisticated the storage and infrastructure requirements are also growing. Maximum Throughput’s Sledgehammer system fully addresses these needs, facilitates easy and consolidated data management, and dramatically improves any facility’s workflow.
