TMT will provide a comprehensive and complete solution covering
both the hardware and software required to keep track of vehicles.
TMT CEO Praveen Gupta said during a press conference in Bangalore,
"The telematic space in the India holds tremendous potential.
With the burgeoning growth of sectors like outsourcing and services,
our portfolio of products will aid in providing value addition for
effect logistics management and control across various verticals.
The latest offering "Consignment Tracking Solutions"
will provide Real-time visibility of consignments to the entire
value chain of Consignor, Consignee, Logistics Service Provider
(LSP) and fleet owners by integrating their ERP/ back-end with the
information available on the trako server. In addition to this,
CTS will provide updates on Vehicle and Consignment tracking, schedule

"Market research indicates high potential for improvement
of fleet efficiencies through the use of Vehicle Telematics System
(VTS). TMT has the necessary technology, automotive domain experience
and resources to address this need. Our products fulfill various
verticals and diverse industry requirements. Our challenge is to
enable even small fleets to exploit these advanced technologies
and thereby improve their productivity and efficiency," added
Gupta.
Using global positioning and mobile technologies such as GSM, GPRS,
CDMA and other terrestrial networks, TMT installs and maintains
the necessary hardware, software and web/mobile phone services.
VTS essentially enables Tracking the location of vehicles and consignments,
Collating and recording information such as unscheduled stops, off-route
movement and over speeding Tracking of technical data, which includes
fuel level and battery charging voltage etc. This information is
relayed back to the control room and can be accessed through various
applications such as live on the computer screens via the Internet,
through SMS on mobile phones, or through periodic reports via e-mail.
VTS also serves as an alert mechanism by detecting accidents through
the 2-way communication it maintains with each driver and assists
in ensuring early paramedical aid in an event of a mishap.
TMT already has provided 4000 online systems and 2000 offline units
to 70 customers in India. Gupta is confident of covering another
40,000 vehicles in 2006-07. After the unfortunate killing of a female
BPO employee by a fleet driver, 4 BPO companies have placed orders
on TMT and 50 vehicles have already been installed with VTS.
