Nexage launches mobile TV solution PhoneCast

MUMBAI: Nexage Inc., a Washington-based wireless software and services company, has launched PhoneCast, an end-to-end mobile video solution for wireless carriers, content providers and media companies.

PhoneCast helps customers to watch live TV, live events and sportscasts, and video on demand content on their mobile phones globally. PhoneCast MVS is a production and distribution Studio for Mobile Channel, allowing companies to broadcast their existing live channels or build their own unique TV channel, and is 3GPP / 3GPP2 and Window Media standards compliant.

PhoneCast reduces the complexity involved in ingestion, management, publication and distribution of video content, including streaming, thus offering media companies and content providers to offer TV programming and mobile video services directly to mobile users, states an official release.

PhoneCast allows wireless carriers to offer mobile subscribers a new and desirable service that is easy to understand, fun to use and has obvious usage increase potential and opportunities for brand differentiation, including tools for user generated content.

PhoneCast allows insertion of advertisements and promotions within live TV programming and VOD services. PhoneCast modular and flexible architecture supports easy and seamless integration of encoding and streaming servers, allowing operators globally to offer VOD and live TV services to every handset supporting video players, the release adds.

Nexage is currently working with various content providers and carrier partners to launch the mobile TV services in the US and the European market soon.
