Cleartrip has appointed PKX Thomas as chief technology officer. He assumed this
responsibility with effect from 24 July 2006. Thomas is responsible for the web
service delivery and software development life cycle in addition to his contribution
towards selecting the right technology tools for all groups within the business.
Cleartrip CEO Sandeep Murthy said, "Cleartrip views technology as a key
business enabler and intends to be a technology leader. Technology will be a key
component of our competitive advantage and we will use it extensively to achieve
our business objectives and drive change in the Indian Travel industry. We intend
to minimize capital allocation and business risks by following two distinct approaches
to technology deployment - speed by simplicity and speed by flexibility. Thomas'
role is fundamental in helping us achieve this level of competence." Thomas
comes to Cleartrip.com with 16 years of expereince, with a specialisation in infrastructure
management and knowledge management. Prior to joining Cleartrip, he spent three
years as technology head in Lionbridge Technologies Private Limited, where he
was involved in directing a newly developed Global Infrastructure service line
and a division of the ADM (Application Development and Maintenance) Group. Prior
to that he was working with Investment Research and Information Services Limited
as the chief technology officer. |
