| EMC Corporation, a global player in information storage
and management solutions, has set up its software development and
support center in Bangalore.
EMC CFO William J Teuber, Jr., said that the center would play
a pivotal role in international growth for EMC and help in better
marketing of Industrial Storage solutions with corporate computer
storage needs exploding phenomenally.
The company plans to invest an additional US$ 100 million over
a period of four years starting 2003. The company had acquired Bangalore
based SANware in 2002 and has increased operations since then. The
present new facility can house around 1000 professionals and already
has several hundred of them working for it at present. 43 per cent
of EMC's revenues are earned internationally and the company plans
to increase this to 50 per cent. The company spends around US$ 1
Billion annually towards R&D.
