Test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation provider Tektronix has announced that sports broadcaster ESPN STAR Sports has ordered WVR600 Series Rasterizers to ensure consistent quality control. The WVR600 Series is designed to monitor analog and digital video and audio signals and obtain the highest quality in a value-priced package.

ESPN STAR Sports recently updated their transmission facility in Singapore. Tektronix' video monitoring equipment is used in the facility for broadcast monitoring. Ease of operation, flexible displays, session displays and gamut displays enable the operators to deliver unfailing content to millions of viewers all over Asia.

"We were looking for a SD-SDI monitoring solution that would allow us to monitor our transmission output and verify signal quality," said ESPN Star Sports director of Engineering Andy Rylance. "Tektronix' WVR610A is a natural solution as it is extremely easy for all our technical staff to learn and use, and gives concise indication of signal quality and levels."

"With fierce competition for Asian viewers in sports entertainment, the ability for a broadcaster to provide top quality programming and world-class presentation is more important than ever," said Tektronix marketing director, Asia Pacific Region, James Alderton. "With these new, all-digital waveform monitors from Tektronix, ESPN STAR Sports will be able to monitor video signal information with unparalleled accuracy and clarity, and deliver the highest level of signal quality to their viewers across the region."
