| Bloomba, search-based e-mail developed by Chennai-based
iSoftTech for its US client Stata Labs, is now available in India.
According to an offical communiqué, IIT Madras professor
Dr Ashok Jhunjhunwala-founded iSoftTech founder had launched Bloomba
in the US in July. The programme is targeted at individual professionals
who are extensive users of e-mails.
Says Jhunjhunwala, "Bloomba is simple to set up on your desktop."
Stata Labs, senior vice-president (products and services) Ellen
R Salisbury said, "Bloomba's search features allow e-mail users
to effortlessly search and find e-mail, contacts, and attachments.
"It ultimately ends the need for traditional folder-based filing
and tracking."
The product can be downloaded from the iSoftTech website at a price
of Rs 1,499 (US$32).
iSoftTech, president and chief operating officer, Vijay Babu said
that about 15-20 software professionals at iSoftTech had worked
for the last two years to develop the product. Apart from the powerful
search engine capability, Bloomba is also bundled with SAproxy Pro
2.0, a spam protection software built on the open source SpamAssassin.
