Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today announced that LG Electronics has purchased TDS5054B, TDS5104, TDS7054, TDS7104, and TDS7404B Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes (DPO).

LG Electronics has purchased oscilloscopes from Tektronix to achieve fast and detailed testing and accurate measuring with reliable quality for the latest digital TV designs. The new oscilloscopes will enable the LG test lab to be more productive by saving engineering time and achieving more reliable results.

To handle the raw performance of the latest high-speed circuitry, engineers have to speed and simplify often complex and time-consuming testing. There is a real demand at LG Electronics for testing equipment that enables engineers to improve productivity in order to speed time to market for the next generation of products.

"Tektronix' Digital Phosphor Oscilloscopes are powerful design and troubleshooting tools," said LG Electronics TV division chief engineer Young-Seok Yang. "They provide not only the banner specifications and signal fidelity needed to address high-speed data rates, but also the solution set our engineers need to be more efficient and confident throughout the design and test cycle," he added.

"The purchase by LG Electronics reinforces Tektronix' number one position in Video Test. We remain the only company that can address the entire television food chain from equipment design and manufacturing, content creation, transmission, and broadcast operations," said Tektronix VP Asia Pacific sales and operations Bob Agnes. "We are very happy that LG Electronics has chosen our oscilloscope solutions for their Digital TV Research Labs."
