Samsung launches Wi fi NotePCs with Intel mobile processors

Samsung India Electronics has launched Samsung X10 plus and Samsung M40, the UWXGA. While SamSung X10 is touted as the world thinnest and lightest two spindle NotePC on 14.1 Screen, the company claims that Samsung M40, the UWXGA 17" is the thinnest and lightest notePC in the world.

The notePCs are based on the Intel Centrino platform and are armed with Intel Pentium M Processor.

While the X10plus combines digital convergence ports, extended battery life, and CDRW-DVD drive, the M40 NotePC is designed to take a user's mobile computing experience to the next level.

The M40 comes with a 17" wide LCD screen, 3D sound speakers and an advanced AV station that has the capability to interact with a variety of new age digital devices. From listening to MP3s to connecting to large screen displays or docking to Digital Video Cameras, it is designed to provide a rich multimedia experience. It is the world only 17" Notebook weighing just 3 kgs (with battery), says an official release.

The X10plus is equipped with biometric finger print recognition technology for increased security for consumers. The X10 advanced configuration of featuring Nvidia 64 MB graphics card, enhanced multimedia features and AV output using the video port out and digital interface port, allows a user to create home theatre effect using the built in DVD Player of the NotePC. It weighs 1.8 kgs and is priced at Rs 169,990.

Both, the X10 plus and the M 40 NotePCs from Samsung, ensure higher performance due to reduced off chip memory accesses, more efficient register management, and the increased availability of valid data in L2 Cache. The company release claims that 90nm process technology of the Intel Pentium M processor makes it possible to have thinner and lighter form factors and better fan less designs with ultra low voltage processors.

Both the new launches are equipped with PC 2700 (333 MHz) DDR memory. The processor is clubbed with twin battery solutions and PC 2700 DDR ensures that users get the optimum and fastest performance on the Samsung note PC's. All Samsung Note PCs feature '"Smart Invertor Control" function, which ensure that all the batteries re-charge in flat 2 hrs.

In addition to the two mega launches, Samsung now has a range of five Wi-Fi enabled NotePCs- the M40, X10plus and X 10, X05, P30 and Q20.

According to Samsung India States, vice president- IT product sales, Vivek Prakash, "Our NotePCs are designed to redefine the world of mobile computing - not only with their performance but their form and style as well."
