National Mobile Television (NMT) in the US has purchased 10 Chyron
Duet Lex Systems configured with the C-Mix option. NMT has thus
enhanced its graphics creation and animation capabilities and maintained
compatibility with two of its biggest customers, Fox Sports and
ESPN.
Chyron develops broadcast television graphics software and hardware
ranging from high-definition turnkey systems to OEM board-level
solutions. NMT provides mobile analog, digital, and high definition
television facilities for the production of television and Internet
broadcasts from remote locations, such as stadiums, arenas, and
conference halls. Features of the Duet Lex system include an industry
standard Windows 2000 operating system, superior graphics creation
tools, Lyric 2D/3D CG/animation with 500 True Type fonts and the
standard CAL API for automated data-driven applications such as
Chyron's NewsCrawl option.
Chyron's C-Mix allows for multi-channel mixing and layering capability
that can easily display two video squeezeback sources, text, object-based
animations and multiple rolls and crawls over an internal video
clip background.
NMT has stated that it believes that the combination graphics device
and clip player with Internet access could bring more compelling
graphics to live productions by providing real time statistics updating,
better 3D and overall animation. It certainly upgrades the palette
of the user and expands their possibilities.
